Sounds like a movie title, which is sort of pn purpose, but it’s a sentiment that is right for this new year. As we go into 2025 we here thought it was time for a bit of a refresh and a renewed commitment to the site and it’s links. So rather than just leaving things to tick along when we get time there will be a commitment here to revitalise this old site which has been around for over a decade now. As with all things if we don’t put in the time our side how can you be expected to keep coming g back.

So in no particular order here are a few things we want to do this year –

Revamp the look

The site was a best of a quick setup, not really the best and its showing its age, so hopefully one of the first things to be done is a redesign. It might not be the most up to date ever but the hope is functionality over form as the saying goes.

Improve the content

Regular visitors or anyone who has been here will have noticed that the writing style can be a little brief to say the least but that is an outcome of rushing to put anything out. So what is needed is a rethink, content should be well written, purposeful and clean. If you see anything that doesnt fit this then by all means let us know. Note though we dont read the comments as they happen to get abused. To provide feedback or even if you want us to publish something you might have written then please use the feedback email on the contact us page.

More frequent updates

One of the main issues on the web in general is lack of updates, we all start something and loose interest, the writing dries up or we dont have a good idea. Well this site suffers that as well, so as a way to aid in this the blog will exist. Even if there isnt anything on the main site then entries will continue on the blog. The place we can publish anything and will.

Collaborate

In the idea of collaboration, we will aim to launch good old style forum at forum.gwhle.com where we can hopefully all come together to interact to discuss. With the demise of so many of the question sites out there we need a place to discuss, from home automation to general networking we hope this will give us a platform.

Socials

Unfortunately this isnt something of an aim, allot of places post all over the web, facebook, X, instagram and so on and so on. Sorry however this simply does not appeal, apart from the odd post on one of these to point people here our interests dont lay with those platforms. If this changes we will post an update. We might use them to contact us though as a quicker means.
